Linux Startup Scripts

To a lesser degree, this is somwhat like Windows Scheduled Tasks, but in Linux, you create sartup scripts or automatic service/application lauching in rc.local.

You can add commands stright into it to run at startup.

# DOS/hacker IP’s
iptables -I INPUT -s 123.123.123.123 -j DROP
iptables -I INPUT -s 11.11.11.11 -j DROP

# Utilities
sh run-after-server-restart.sh

Other use cases might be to cleanup pids, or temp directories after power outages or running scripts that currently run on a scheduled cron job.
